Although there have been no entries on this page for a while, the Lodge continues to be active. Our regular annual events include the Memorial Day pancake breakfast, and, also on the Memorial Day weekend, we serve chowder and strawberry shortcake to the visitors at the Knox Museum's "Boots on the Ground" celebration of serving military personnel and veterans. In July we host a lobster dinner for members of the Maj. Gen. Henry Knox Lodge from Boston. In recent summers we have held a series of crabmeat roll luncheons on alternate Wednesdays. These have become a very successful form of fundraising for the Lodge.

On the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, May 28th 2016, we served over 500 portions of Strawberry Shortcake, along with an equally prodigious amount of fish chowder, to the visitors to the Traveling Vietnam Wall, which was on display at Montpelier. It was an honor to be part of such a moving event. Here is a photo of the group as we set the booth up:

50-year pins awarded to two brothers!
At the special open meeting held on May 2nd. 2013, 50-year pins were presented to Bros. True Hall and Keith Monaghan. Our photographs below show highlights of the event, which was conducted by Lodge Secretary Doug Rackliff. True Hall was accompanied by his great-grandson Parker, while his lapel emblem was pinned on by his daughter Sandra.

On Saturday July 21st. 2012 we served a lobster lunch to the members of the Henry Knox Lodge of Boston, who, with their guests, were visiting Montpelier in Thomaston to honor the General on the anniversary of his birth (July 25th.) Some pictures of the event are below.
Members of the lodge served a lunch of Doug's famous fish chowder, with Strawberry Shortcake and Cream, at the "Boots on the Ground" celebration of the Military, held at Montpelier on Saturday May 26th. 2012. A good time was had by all, not least the Hungry Public, who kept us busy serving for nearly an hour!
On May 12th. we hosted a public supper (of corned hake and potatoes) as a celebration of the completion of the first phase of the Lodge Hall renovation (basically, it is now waterproof!) About 30 people enjoyed a congenial (and probably also rather fattening) time.
Two brothers receive 50-year pins!
At the October 7th. 2010 stated meeting, held by special dispensation at the lodge hall in Tenants Harbor, we welcomed District Deputy Grand Master Brian Messing and other guests for our annual Grand Lodge inspection. Adding to the significance of the event, we had 50-year pins to present to Wor. Ralph Robinson, PM and Bro. Ralph Cline. Starting the evening, we had a wonderful corned hake dinner prepared by our own master chef extraordinaire Doug Rackliff and his able assistants. We welcomed a large number of guests and had a most congenial evening.
